Nutritional Therapy

Balanced nutrition is undeniably linked to good health. More than 60% of all diseases are nutritionally related and can be prevented or reversed with dietary changes.

Diet and nutrition play a significant role in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Each food has a particular taste and property. Some foods are "damp" while others are "hot." Many foods influence specific organs. For example, naturally bitter foods such as Brussels sprouts benefit the liver. Food may also have an energetic action that can strengthen qi or blood.

Additionally, foods interact with each other. Some hinder the absorption of nutrients while others help it. Knowing proper food combinations is important and can be critical to successful treatments.

Understanding the action, taste, temperature and combination of foods enables us to recommend the use or exclusion of certain foods for specific conditions.

At Camarillo Acupuncture we are here to help you discover what foods are best for you!
